With an all-star female cast and one of Hollywood’s hottest actors, The Other Woman was set to be the most anticipated films of the year. But how do you tell an age-old story of love, infidelity and friendship in a fresh and exciting way? We started by analysing online conversations around the film and the talent. The dominance of a young, socially savvy, female audience, drove our recommendation to introduce the characters through a series of emoji assets. The emoji theme continued throughout the campaign in the form of image captions and trailer responses (fans even posted their own emoji responses on the page). Revenge image assets and inspirational quotes from the film served to push the theme of female empowerment, and over the second half of the campaign, with the help of media amplification across five key markets, we managed to engage over 350k people and reach more than 8m and with our content.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 swung in UK cinemas in April 2014. We were tasked with creating an innovative digital publicity strategy and campaign that spoke to comic book fans, young boys and fans of blockbuster titles, alike.

We did this through a variety of creative executions covering themes of fitness and fashion, as well as traditional film and entertainment features and dedicated Spider-Man content. In addition to extensive feature coverage, we ensured exclusive assets made as much noise as possible through placements across top entertainment sites and portals, and executed an extensive talent interview schedule which included a Live Twitter Q&A with all key cast, resulting in a UK-wide trending topic.

This hotly anticipated sequel hit UK cinemas in June 2014, achieving an unprecedented level of success. We were tasked with creating an innovative digital publicity strategy and campaign in the months running up to release.

The campaign combined considered placement of exclusive content across film, entertainment, lifestyle and music sites; feature pieces that addressed core themes of the film including an Undercover Aptitude test designed by a criminal psychologist and multiple features focused on bromance, partnerships, cop comedies and talent.

Using our global network of relationships across marketing, media and technology b2b press, we positioned Red Bull and Google’s livestream of Stratos as a pioneering marketing initiative at the forefront of digital innovation. Stratos became the most-talked about PR generated news story of 2012 across the world and Way To Blue was delighted to be a part of it.

As an official sponsor of the BAFTAs and Oscars in 2011, Grey Goose wanted to raise awareness for its offline activity, online and be seen to use the smartest digital communications around. We put together an international strategy to maximise on events happening in both London and LA. The main objective given to us was to align the Grey Goose brand with ‘Entertainment’.

To this end we profiled and engaged with key film, fashion and entertainment bloggers and online influencers – giving them exclusive access to events and product during the campaign window. Our carefully selected influencers generated a wealth of positive awareness for Grey Goose online and through social media.

We were asked to manage the unit publicity for the production of feature film The Two Faces of January. The campaign ran from pre-production to delivery and encompassed the management of all publicity and marketing assets, UK publicity strategy and implementation. Our campaign raised awareness through strategic placement of production announcements through to exclusive early image releases.

Through a series of media days to the set we were able to ensure that outlets were engaged during the filming to bank material for the theatrical release and gain early advocacy.

We were asked to deliver the digital publicity campaign for the UK theatrical release of Katy Perry: Part of Me. The campaign had to reach out to existing Katy Perry fans and a broader audience to ensure mass UK awareness.

Our campaign engaged with all target media through reviews, talent access, strategic asset placement and engaging features. Our stand-out creative idea of the first ever global SKYPE chat with MSN was a resounding success resulting in promotion on 39 MSN home pages, a global AVE of $10,000,000 to date and #MSNKaty trending in the UK and worldwide on the day of the event.

We were asked to create the strategy and implement the UK theatrical digital publicity campaign for Skyfall. Through an extensive 12-month publicity campaign our press team contributed to ensuring Skyfall would be the biggest Bond release of all time.

Over 1500 pieces of coverage were generated with a total UK media value in excess of £2 million. Skyfall broke the record and became the first ever film to take over £100 million pounds at the UK box office.

Sony Pictures asked us to audit the social profiles of their films and corporate brand in 25 countries. We started with analyzing the assets and profiles for every film over an 18 month period.

We were then able to make strategic recommendations on how best to migrate, maintain and curate their social footprint going forward and provide valuable insights into how to co-ordinate activities for franchise titles. Our work has enabled Sony Pictures to craft a global vision for future social media campaigns and a better understanding of how to make best use of resource, assets and budgets.
